Nowaday, IT and business are more closer than ever. Before that, IT and business are always seperate entities. Businss defined the business requirement while IT implemented the requirement based on what business needs. As technology changes so fast, Business may not be aware as fast as IT to know what advanced technology are available and acheived in the up-to-date markets. Therefore, IT executives will play a more influcent role when they vision that infrasture investiments and advance technology are required to improve business process.

The trends for 2006 will be focused on.....


1. Still Management for growth
Management for growth is still the main strategic objective. IT and business must have good alignment to acheive this objectives. Thereore, the executives always need to plan for the best when the companies can finanically support growth. But, of course, they always have to prepare the worst scenario, when the economy slows down.

2. Adopt fast change
Market changes fast. Technology changes fast. Only the company and individuals who can adopt fast change can survive. Don't letup the pace to speed up process and networks.IT-2


3. Speed plus innovation
Fast adopting the emerging techonlogies is not the only key to success. It also embraces innovation. It is important to respond in real time for business condition and customer needs.


4. Web interface for front-line services
Nowadays, there are many way to service customers. One of major way to provide quality interface and services in internet so that customer can have another venue for self-service. As the fast speed internet access and technologies are getting common, there will be more and more customer using this new channel to communicate and interact with companies.

5. Apply IT to innovate business process
For the sake of gaining competitive edge in business products, companies amy gain benefits from technical/process innovations. The process innovation brough by IT will eventually engage into product innovations.

6. Focus global opportunities, especially China
Outsoucing is no longer limited to local. It extends to outsource from some countries which provides 'lower cost' than local employment. China and India are the emerging economy countries where they provide many opportunites for not only outsourcing IT work, but also generating potential growth.

7. Mobile technology as strategic direction

Mobile products such as mobile phone, laptop and PDA or a combination of some become a very common products in market. With the emerged advance technology, the devices can become daily tools to improve business efficiency and customer services. They are not just personal commuication toys, but can improve companies productivity and better management in various aspects.
